Children’s Dentistry in West Bridgford

Children’s dentist treatments at Hilton Dental Clinic

Our dentists are experienced with children’s dentistry and how to make sure they feel at ease during treatment, and we aim to prevent dental decay and disease from an early age, rather than treat it at a later date. At a children’s dental appointment we’ll carefully examine the inside and outside of your child’s mouth to check for any abnormalities or decay, make sure the teeth and gums are healthy, treat any issues we find, and provide them with good oral healthcare tips and advice.

The benefits of children’s dentistry

  • Helps to maintain healthy teeth and gums from a young age
  • Helps to prevent decay and the need for fillings or tooth loss
  • Gives your child positive early experiences of the dentist
  • Teaches children good oral healthcare

Here’s how it works

  1. ‍Your child’s dentist will give your child safety goggles and a bib, and tell them what they are going to do.
  2. They will carefully examine the inside and outside of your child’s mouth to check for any abnormalities, illnesses or decay that may men treatment should be postponed.
  3. The dentist will then carefully paint the varnish on to your child’s teeth, starting at the back and working forward.
  4. Your child should not eat or drink for at least 30 minutes after application, and should not brush their teeth until the next day

Life benefits

  • Strengthens tooth enamel, helping to prevent decay and thus fillings or tooth loss.
  • Works on both adult and baby teeth.
  • Helps give your child positive early experiences of visiting the dentist, and helps them learn good oral healthcare.
