Porcelain Veneers in West Bridgford

Veneers at Hilton Dental Clinic

Often associated with that perfect, movie star smile; veneers are thin sheets of porcelain which are shaped and placed on the front of your teeth to mask imperfections like stains, chips, or even crooked teeth. Veneers are held in place by a strong dental bond, which makes them discreet, durable, and long-lasting – a great way to help you achieve a natural-looking, healthy smile.

The benefits of porcelain veneers

  • Improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth
  • Can be used to close small gaps instead of orthodontics
  • Long-lasting, natural-looking enhancement to your smile
  • Strong, durable, and chip-resistant restoration option
  • Custom-made and uniquely tailored to fit your teeth

What to know

  1. A veneer is a very thin, tooth-coloured piece of porcelain (much like a false fingernail, but longer-lasting and much more durable) which is bonded onto your natural tooth.
  2. A small amount of your natural tooth’s enamel will need to be removed before the veneer can be fitted, to make sure the tooth or teeth with the veneer fits in with your natural teeth.
  3. Based on your needs and the position of your teeth, the shape and size of the veneers can be adjusted to make your teeth overall look longer and/or closer together.
  4. You can have just one veneer fitted to fix the appearance of a broken or chipped tooth, or have several teeth capped, or even a whole set of teeth – known as a smile makeover.
  5. We’ll choose a precise shade of porcelain so just one or two veneers fit into your smile seamlessly, or if you’re having a full smile makeover, we’ll help you choose a shade.

Veneers FAQs

What dental concerns can veneers fix?

Porcelain veneers are ideal for improving the appearance of teeth that are chipped, stained, slightly crooked, or have gaps. They’re a versatile solution for creating a uniform, healthy-looking smile.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last between 10 to 15 years. Regular brushing, flossing, and routine dental check-ups will help prolong their lifespan.

Will getting veneers damage my natural teeth?

A small amount of enamel is gently removed to ensure the veneer fits naturally, but the procedure is minimally invasive and your underlying tooth structure remains largely intact.
