Replacing lost or missing teeth has great benefits not only for your appearance, but your dental health as well. Without the support of your teeth, facial muscles can sag and sink inwards, which can make people appear older, and cause issues with eating, drinking, and speaking properly. A denture is made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give your smile a natural appearance; a great solution for people who have a half or full mouth of teeth to replace, with lifestyle-improving benefits.
We’ll have an initial consultation with you to discuss your smile goals, and create a unique treatment plan to start your journey to a complete, comfortable smile.
The treatment process:
A dental denture is an appliance which is worn to replace lost or missing teeth to enable you to enjoy a healthy diet and smile with confidence.
A complete or full denture is one that replaces all of the natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaws.
A partial denture fills in the spaces created by lost or missing teeth and is attached to your natural teeth with metal clasps or devices called precision attachments.
The base of a denture is called a plate and can be made of either acrylic (plastic) or metal.
The teeth are normally made of acrylic and can be made to match your natural teeth. This is especially important in the case of partial dentures.
There are two main types of dentures: full dentures, which replace all teeth in an upper or lower arch, and partial dentures, which fill gaps when some natural teeth remain. Both are custom-made to fit your mouth and appearance.
With proper care, dentures can last between 5 to 10 years. Over time, they may need adjustments or replacement as your mouth naturally changes.
While it may take a short time to adjust, dentures are designed to help you chew comfortably and speak clearly. Our team will ensure they fit securely for everyday confidence and comfort.
Includes a comprehensive dental exam, X-rays, and a routine hygiene clean performed by the dentist. A great way to get started on your journey to a healthier smile.
