Achieve a healthy, natural-looking smile with professional veneers at Hilton Dental Clinic.
Often associated with that perfect, movie star smile; veneers are thin sheets or porcelain which are shaped and placed on the front of your teeth to mask imperfections like stains, chips, or even crooked teeth. Veneers are held in place by a strong dental bond, which makes them discreet, durable, and long-lasting; a great way to help you achieve a natural-looking, healthy smile.
The benefits of porcelain veneers
Very clean and friendly practice. Was given a thorough breakdown of all the options I had for treatment in different price ranges and wasn't rushed to decide what was best for me neither did I feel that they were pushing more expensive options which I appreciated.
Once I had decided the treatment I wanted and the dentist did it for me I was very happy with the results. Would highly recommend!!!
1. A veneer is a very thin, tooth-coloured piece of porcelain (much like a false finger nail, but longer-lasting and much more durable) which is bonded onto your natural tooth.
2. A small amount of your natural tooth’s enamel will need to be removed before the veneer can be fitted, to make sure the tooth or teeth with the veneer fits in with your natural teeth.
3. Based on your needs and the position of your teeth, the shape and size of the veneers can be adjusted to make your teeth overall look longer and or closer together.
4. You can have just one veneer fitted to fix the appearance of a broken or chipped tooth, or have several teeth capped, or even a whole set of teeth, known as a smile makeover.
5. We’ll choose a precise shade of porcelain so just one or two veneers fit into your smile seamlessly, or if you’re having a full smile makeover, we’ll help you choose a shade.
Unfortunately not! Whitening can remove any existing stains on the veneers, but it will not change their original shade. We recommend you have your teeth whitened prior to getting veneers so they can be matched to your newly whitened teeth.
Yes they do. Before we can fit your veneers, we need to remove a small amount of dental enamel so they will fit over your natural teeth and all remain the same size. Don’t worry – this is a straightforward and painless procedure.
In most cases, you can expect your veneers to last between five and 15 years, depending on how well you take care of them! They may need to be replaced at some stage, but your dentist will be able to give you more information about the longevity of your veneers.
Because porcelain veneers are extremely strong and specially bonded to your teeth, you can still eat most of the things you normally would. You should take care when eating very hard foods that could potentially crack or damage your teeth, and just be aware that they can be damaged under extreme pressure.
The whole team at Hilton Dental Clinic are professional, kind, courteous and welcoming. The service they provide is never less than excellent.
