Meet your dental team

Hi my name is Kamal and I am the owner of Hilton Dental Clinic. My aim is to provide you with the highest level of dentistry in a gentle, professional and caring manner.

I qualified as a Dentist from the University of Sheffield in 2004 and furthered my training in the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Here I was involved in the treatment of facial and dental trauma, complicated Oral Surgery as well as Head & Neck Cancer. After a period of extensive study and examinations, I successfully gained the prestigious MFDS qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. This further training allows me to treat some of the more complex dental cases that are presented to me with consistent, high quality results.

I then successfully completed a two year training programme in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the gold standard qualification in this field. I was further awarded the advanced certificate in Implant Surgery in recognition of my additional surgical skills in block bone and maxillary sinus grafting (making it possible for implants to be placed in areas where there has been extensive bone loss after tooth removal). I am one of only a handful of Dentists to have received this recognition in the UK. I accept referrals for Implantology and am a clinical coach, training and helping other Dentists to develop their skills within implant dentistry. I continue to regularly attend post-graduate courses at home and internationally, keeping up to date with all of the latest treatment techniques to ensure that I can deliver the highest level of care for my patients.

Outside of dentistry I enjoy practicing martial arts and I hold a black belt in Shotokan Karate. I am married and we have two boys, both of whom share the same passion for cricket as I do!

Claire provides minor oral surgery at Hilton Dental Clinic. Due to the broad training she has received she is experienced in treating anxious patients and children. She puts patients at ease, takes time to explain what she is doing and uses a range of anxiety management techniques.

Claire gained her dental degree with Honours in 2007 from The University of Liverpool. Prior to this she did a degree in Biology and a PhD at the University of Leeds, and then worked for three years as a post-doctoral research fellow at The University of Pennsylvania, USA, carrying out basic science research.

Following her dental degree, she carried out a year of vocational training at a dental practice on the Wirral. She began her post-graduate dental training at Liverpool Dental Hospital with a Senior House Office post that had an emphasis on Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Special Care Dentistry. She then undertook an Oral and Maxillofacial Senior House Officer post on the Mersey Regional Rotation working at Aintree Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. After her daughter was born, she became a Community Dental Officer in Derbyshire treating children and adults with special needs, complex medical problems, anxieties and learning difficulties.

Claire is currently a Specialist Oral Surgeon at Sheffield and carries out emergency dental treatment in Derby and Burton-upon-Trent. At Sheffield her work involves all aspects of surgical dentistry and she teaches both undergraduate dental students and post-graduates. Claire also has a special interest in conscious sedation for dentistry and has completed a postgraduate diploma in Conscious Sedation at Newcastle University.

Claire is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) and the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS). She was an active member of BAOS Council for three years. Away from the world of dentistry Claire has a busy life and with her husband, daughter and young son. She tries to fit in exercise and her own social life around her children’s extracurricular activities, but sometimes fails. 

As a distinguished graduate from the University of Birmingham in 2003, Dr Kayten Patel has been working as a Dentist in Nottingham for over 20 years, progressively gaining vital experience in providing the highest standards of dental care for his patients.

Dr Patel’s kind and conscientious approach to dental care focuses on preventative measures and embracing minimally invasive techniques that ensure patient comfort without compromising excellence. In his daily interactions with his patients Kayten strives to address all of his patients concerns and provide a comfortable and caring environment for them while providing the highest standards of dental care and professionalism.  Many nervous patients are put at ease by his gentle and friendly manner. He has seen how cosmetic dentistry, aligners, composite bonding and implants can do wonders for self-confidence; quite literally putting the smile back on patients’ faces. His greatest satisfaction comes from helping patients see what is possible to achieve, and working with them to achieve the best possible result.

Kayten is committed to postgraduate education and devotes significant days each year to undertake postgraduate training to keep his knowledge up to date and learn the latest advances in dental technology. He has attended numerous postgraduate courses.

Outside of Dentistry Kayten is a keen follower of Nottingham Forest Football club and he can often be seen high up in the Brian Clough stand cheering on his club. 

My name is Hummaid and I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2016 with Merit. I spent the next 5 years in general practice providing high quality dental care. I believe all dentistry should be carried out to a high standard to ensure patient satisfaction and longevity of treatment. This pursuit for excellence led me to embarking on a 3 year Masters Degree at the prestigious Queen Mary’s University of London in Endodontic (root canal) practice. Since completing the masters I carry out complex and advanced endodontic treatment at Hilton Dental Clinic and I also take referrals from local dentists.

I also have a passion for cosmetic dentistry, designing and creating beautiful smiles through the provision of composite bonding, composite and ceramic veneers and tooth whitening.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym and playing football when I am not indulging in exploring different food cuisines

I started my working life at Hilton Dental Clinic in 1985 as a trainee dental nurse and have now worked here for over 38 years. In all of that time have never lost my love of the job. My role is that of Head Nurse and every day is different. But for me it’s our patients that make the job so worthwhile, whether it be reassuring new, nervous patients or catching up with patients that I have known for many years. At Hilton we do a lot of oral and implant surgery which is something I particularly enjoy.

Outside of work I particularly enjoy reading, live music/comedy, yoga, the cinema and just being out walking in nature. I look forward to meeting you soon. 

Hi, my name is Carla. I have been a Dental Nurse since 2008. My role as a dental nurse at Hilton Dental Clinic started in 2015. I still enjoy all aspects of my role as much as I did when I started and feel that as modern dentistry is always developing, it means I always have the opportunity to learn new things.

I enjoy nursing for a wide range of dental appointments from routine examinations to minor oral surgery. Outside of dentistry I enjoy spending time with my family and socialising with friends. 

Trudy has been a dental nurse since 2016. She enjoys all aspects of her role, being the first point of contact for their patients when they come into the practice, building a rapport and helping them feel at ease.

Trudy has been able to nurse for a wide range of treatments and now has the opportunity at Hilton Dental Clinic to further her knowledge and learn about advanced procedures such dental implants and oral surgery.

When Trudy is not working, She is spending time with her two children and creating new memories with them. 

I started my dental nursing apprenticeship in 2018 and in that time I have learnt to nurse for a wide range of dental treatment such as restorations, crowns and root canal fillings. I have had the opportunity to further my skills by nursing for oral surgery extractions and being part of the treatment for dental implants. The thing I enjoy most about being a Dental Nurse, is building a relationship with patients and putting them at ease.

In my spare time I enjoy shopping, meeting up with friends and going to the gym. 

My name is Kelly and I am a part-time receptionist. I began working at Hilton Dental Clinic in 2015. I very much enjoy my role and I have gotten to know many of our lovely patients well over the years. I enjoy interacting with the patients and putting them at ease before they go in to have their treatments.

Outside of work I enjoy yoga, live music and time with my family, including looking after my grandchildren.
